Hospice "Casa Sperantei" Brasov - Romania

Begining in 1998, one week a year is dedicated to educating our community about hospice and palliative care. The edelweiss is the flower that represents the hospice movement in Romania and during this week we give edelweisses and an information pamphlet about hospice care in return for a small donation to the hospice. In this way we gain community support, help to educate the community about hospice, and raise money for our cause. In 1999, Hospice Week will be held in May.

Corporate Partnership Program

In an effort to involve the Brasov business community in the hospice movement we have started a Corporate Partnership Program. In this program we seek one corporate partner from Brasov for each week of the year. This partner will agree to support the hospice that week either through a direct donation or through the employees of that company participating in a fundraising event for the hospice. That week we will give our partner and their employees information about hospice and our activities in the community. To date we have found 5 corporate partners. The majority have supported us through donating products. These corporations are: Petrol Grup, S.A., Kraft-Jacobs Suchard, S.C. Carfil S.A., Development Bank of Romania, and Commercial Bank of Romania.
